Wye River offers excellent surfing conditions throughout the year, boasting cool, clear waters and steady waves suitable for beginners. During the cooler months, we provide wetsuits for warmth, and in the sunnier seasons, we offer rash shirts for sun protection. Our selection of beginner surfboards is extensive, ensuring we have the right board for every learner.
Our instructors are not only fully qualified surf life savers but also Level 1 Surf Coaches. They specialise in teaching the fundamentals of surfing, such as paddling, popping up, and wave catching. Beyond these basics, they are adept at enhancing your surfing technique and boosting your confidence on the water.
We generally recommend participants to be at least 9 years old. However, we are open to accommodating younger children, provided their parents are willing to assist them in the water. This flexibility ensures that families can enjoy the surf experience together at Wye River.
