Go Ride A Wave is proud to be associated and run the SurfGroms on the Great Ocean Rd Victoria. SurfGroms programs cater to groms between the ages of 5-12 years old, nationally.
This program not only teaches kids an exhilarating new sport, but educates them in ALL aspects of ocean awareness and beach safety.
SurfGroms offers the ultimate opportunity for those looking to learn, experience and enjoy the timeless exhilaration of surfing whilst also gaining a real understanding of water awareness and surf safety that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
We have 2 types of SurfGrom programs:
- 4 day intensive programs during school holiday times with sessions running daily.
- term programs which are usually one day a week for a number of weeks.
We include wetsuits and soft beginner surfboards in addition to fully qualified instruction and fun.
SurfGroms - Intensive Program
4 day intensive programs during school holiday times with sessions running daily from Monday to Thursday inclusive.

A term programs which are usually held one day a week for 4 weeks on Saturdays or Sundays.

Meet at Our Shop
Everyone should meet at our shop at least 15minutes before the start time of your lesson. You will be provided with a full length Quiksilver wetsuit and a soft beginner surfboard and walk to the beach.
The lessons begin on the sand with a safety briefing and some basic instruction.
We conduct almost all our lessons in waist deep water and consequently this keeps it safe for everyone. After catching some waves we will return to the beach for more detailed instruction about how to stand up.
The rest of the lesson will be spent in the water with the instructor helping everyone to stand up on a wave.
