Woolworths SurfGroms
Go Ride A Wave is proud to be associated and run the Woolworths SurfGroms on the Great Ocean Rd Victoria. SurfGroms programs cater to groms between the ages of 5-12 years old, nationally.
This program not only teaches kids an exhilarating new sport, but educates them in ALL aspects of ocean awareness and beach safety.
SurfGroms offers the ultimate opportunity for those looking to learn, experience and enjoy the timeless exhilaration of surfing whilst also gaining a real understanding of water awareness and surf safety that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
We have 2 types of Woolworths SurfGrom programs:
- 4 day intensive programs during school holiday times with sessions running daily.
- term programs which are usually one day a week for a number of weeks.
We include wetsuits and soft beginner surfboards in addition to fully qualified instruction and fun.
What’s Included
Every child registered for a SurfGroms program will receive a Rip Curl Trucker Cap, and their own online copy of the SurfGroms logbook to help them track their skill progression and work on activities at home. This logbook will be attached to your confirmation email in the form of an editable PDF that can be completed on a device, or printed off at home if preferred.
Rip Curl rash vests will be available at each surf school for SurfGroms to use during each session. However, unlike previous years these will be returned to the school after use. Participants do not keep their rash vests this year. Soft foam beginner surfboards are supplied by Go Ride A Wave for use during the program.

A term programs which are usually held one day a week for 4 weeks on Saturdays or Sundays.

How to find us...
Go Ride a Wave shop is on the Great Ocean Road opposite Anglesea Main beach.
Coming from Geelong drive into Anglesea, go over the river, 800 m past the bridge there is a sharp right hand bend with a group of shops on the corner traditionally known as the Four Kings.
Turn into the carpark and Go Ride a Wave is situated in the middle of the shops.
