Surfing lessons for kids Our packages

Surfing lessons for kids are offered all year round at Go Ride a Wave’s 11 surf school locations.

We provide a safe, friendly environment for kids to gain the confidence and water skills they will require for a lifetime of fun at the beach.

We offer several different package options for surfing lessons for kids.

1 lesson will get your child in the water and standing in their first lesson.

3 lessons will get give your child the confidence to not only stand, but handle themselves more confidently in the waves and have a basic understanding of the ocean.

5 lessons will get your child standing in the surf, but also catching waves by themselves, with the confidence they will require to continue on for years to come.

Public surfing lessons are for kids aged from 8 to 17 years of age.

Younger children often need some extra help in the water while the instructor is assisting other participants, so we encourage parents to come in to the water to assist young kids. We will even provide a wetsuit or rash shirt for parents who assist.

All our lessons include either a long sleeve rashie or wetsuit depending on conditions, and a soft beginner surfboard – G Board

Public lessons will often have a combination of adults and children involved.

Go Ride A Wave also offer special Surf Lessons for Kids, which are specifically designed for younger children aged between 5 and 12, called Vegemite SurfGroms.

We provide intensive Surf Groms programs during school holidays as well as weekly programs during school terms. There are 5 ability levels for the groms to progress through, with a fantastic backpack full of goodies included and plenty of giveaways during the program. Please go to our SurfGroms page for more information.
